What is Magic Snail Club?

MSC is my personal site for fun, sharing things I enjoy, stuff I create, and to connect with you. It is like a club, a club for magic snails. I think snails are very cute.

What is the deal with this website?

I wanted a venue to do the things listed above, but other platforms just weren't cutting it.

Other sites and apps had come to feel like being duct-taped into a dysfunctional amusement park ride. Perhaps this story sounds familiar to you? Building this new wee web world has washed away so much of the fatigue and disinterest I had built up about the internet.

Interacting with larger platforms that used to be somewhat fun had gradually begun to feel like willfully crawling into a monetized hydraulic press with IDF ties. Everything that had been cool or interesting became steamrolled into flavorless 2D bits, buried under a landfill (graveyard?) of web slop. I've always known this day would come, ever since the MySpace Migration of the mid 00s. Hashtag Nostradamus, if you will...

The ease and appeal once promised has hollowed out. The silly videos and cat photos can no longer bear the weight to keep this ship from sinking. Between the moldy grout of the grid, all that is left is:

> aesthetic sterility
> fweaky surveillance
> inconsistent censorship
> AI data absorption and training
> and honestly, kind of my least favorite part...

I'm down for a random feed of things I could dig (in theory) but it is unavoidably 90% ragebait, booby time, podcast clips, and AI slop now.
